Hanzhi Hu, D.Phil, Oxon

I obtained doctorate in sociology from University of Oxford in 2022.

I joined the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(CASS) as a Research Fellow and journal editor in 2023.

Research
Substantively, I am interested in how (dis)advantages, inequality and ideologies (gender, sexuality and identity) are produced and reproduced over the life course.

Methodologically, I am interested in applying and developing quantitative methods to various data sources to answer empirical questions.

Research Projects and Grants
Currently, I am the Principle Investigator of two research projects funded by the National Social Science Fund of China and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Please check the details on Research page. I am actively seeking both short term and long term research assistants for these two projects. Feel free to contact me if you are interested, having the higher degree(s) is NOT a must.
